Drywall Denver

Drywall, tape, texture and painting in living room.
Installing or hanging Drywall is hard work because a sheet of drywall weighs around 54 pounds, and a 4' x 8' x 5/8" thick sheet weighs around 70 lbs and drywall comes with two sheets taped together so as you can Imagine this is extremely hard work and not a DIY project.
Drywall Installation really is a job for professional drywall hangers, and our drywall hangers have years of experience. Experience is the important word here because most of the calls we get at the Alpine Companies about drywall is to repair a DIY drywall installation project that has gone wrong and needs to be completed, and finished, we’ll come to your home and measure the areas, and we’ll tell you exactly how many drywall boards are needed for your job because you can waste a lot of drywall when you’re going around doors and windows while hanging the drywall.
We’ll spend time telling you what type of drywall you need for your home to make sure we meet the building codes where you live. There are rules about the thickness and the type of wall board used in your home to meet the fire codes, and building codes in your area, and you’ll also want to make sure waterproof drywall is installed in bathrooms and kitchens that are constantly exposed to water.

Our drywall hangers will use the large 12’ to 16’ sheets of drywall to minimize the number of joints in the drywall and we’ll always hang two sheets horizontally so there is only one joint and as few butt-joints (when two boards come together) which will save you money because it cuts down on waste and there will less drywall finishing to do, after the drywall is hung.
If we hang drywall over concrete floors, it’s important that the drywall doesn’t come into contact with the concrete floor; moisture can move up your walls, and ruin the drywall above it, so we always leave about a half inch of space between the floor and the sheets of drywall which gets covered by the wood molding installed around the floors.
Vaulted ceilings always require more preparation, and they’re more work, and require scaffolding to work from so this is another reason to call a Pro for vaulted ceilings, and we’ll take special care when going around electrical outlets and fixtures.
The Alpine Companies have hung millions of square feet of drywall in the last 30 years so we’ll bring all these years of experience to make sure your drywall is done perfectly the first time.
